What we can build
Flat carbon and glass parts, cut to your outline. A part inside these limits gets an instant price. Anything outside them we quote by hand.

| Part size | Up to 2390 × 1170 mm, either orientation, for every process. |
|---|---|
| Construction | Solid laminate up to 10 mm thick, or a sandwich panel up to 25 mm thick overall: two skins on a foam core. |
| Plies | Up to 100 plies per face, each with its own material and angle. The thickness limits above still apply. |
| Fabrics | Carbon: 200 g/m² 3K 2×2 twill, about 670 g/m² 12K twill, 400 g/m² ±45 double bias, about 380 g/m² 0/90 biaxial, and 150 or 300 g/m² unidirectional. E-glass: 300 g/m² woven (7781 style). |
| Prepreg | Carbon prepreg with a low-temperature-cure epoxy: 200 g/m² twill, 400 g/m² ±45, and 150 or 300 g/m² unidirectional. |
| Cores | SAN foam at 80, 130 or 200 kg/m³, in 6.35, 9.5, 12.7, 15.9, 19.05 or 25.4 mm. |
| Process | Vacuum-bagged wet layup, resin infusion or prepreg. |
| Outline | Any closed outline from a DWG or DXF, or drawn in the designer. |
| Cutouts | Up to 32 per part: round holes from 7.5 mm, slots, rectangles or your own shape, cut through every layer. |
| Bolt holes | Round holes up to 30 mm: centers at least 3 diameters from a cut edge and 4 diameters (of the larger hole) from each other. On a square-cut sandwich panel, keep the hole edge 25 mm from the edge. |
| Edges | Square cut, or a 30° core ramp down to a solid border on every outside edge. Face A stays flat; the ramp is on face B. |
| Hardpoints | Carbon pads that replace the full core depth where bolts go, 25 to 300 mm a side and at least 25 mm from the edge or the ramp toe. Up to 20 per part, covering no more than 20% of its area. Sandwich panels only. |
| Bolt rings | M6 to M12 holes spaced evenly around the outline. On a ramped panel they go through the solid border. |
| Tolerances | Outline, hole size and hole position ±0.5 mm. Thickness is what the layup gives; the designer shows it. |
| Finish | Gloss on face A (the tool face) and peel-ply texture on face B. Flatness is checked with the part unrestrained. |
| Quantity | One part or many. The price includes quantity breaks. |
Quoted by hand
Build the part in the designer and send it from your cart, or email the drawing to hello@plydrop.parts. We price these ourselves:
- Parts larger than 2390 × 1170 mm, solid laminates over 10 mm, or panels over 25 mm thick
- Honeycomb cores, and foam cores in other thicknesses
- Threaded inserts and other hardware
- G10 hardpoints, partial-depth pads, or pads of more than one material in a part
- Local reinforcement patches and core recesses
- Edge bands, ramps on only some edges, and other edge details
- Holes under 7.5 mm, or holes closer to each other or to an edge than the spacing above
- Tolerances tighter than ±0.5 mm, a required finished thickness, or a thickness tolerance tighter than ±0.2 mm or ±10% (whichever is larger)
- Other finishes, flatness or roughness limits, and restrained inspection
- Cut test coupons
