Drawing editor
Select a feature, drag it, or enter exact coordinates. Invalid moves leave the design unchanged. Polygon X/Y is the center of its bounding box.
New inserts: M6 request, 2 mm radial + 1 mm bottom potting, face A. New patches: one 0° ply of the first face-A material, face A, 10 mm overlap. Edit full schedules in Hardpoints & regions.
Select a feature in the drawing.
In select mode, drag empty space to pan; click an edge to edit its treatment. Switch to 2D to edit. Undo covers drawing edits; changes in other forms reset that history.
Estimate & manufacturing checks

Planning estimate · assumptions
Import a drawing
Import a panel or a mating part. Assign profiles before changing the panel. Reference profiles are temporary overlays, excluded from the quote.
DWG: export an ASCII DXF from your CAD application first. Supported: XY closed straight polylines, circles (64-segment approximation) and points. Explode blocks and join linework in CAD. Arcs, bulges, splines, meshes and open paths are reported, not silently converted.
Imported insert defaults
Circle/point centers locate inserts. Drawing hole diameter does not determine the insert pocket.
Applying replaces only the selected outer boundary (clearing old edge assignments), appends cutouts/inserts, and checks the complete panel before saving. Existing features remain.
Panel geometry
Advanced outline coordinates
Any valid simple polygon, including concave outlines. Straight segments only. Use Import CAD for supported DXF profiles. No islands or automatic topology repair.

Laminate & process
Rows are ordered from each exterior face toward the core. All angles reference the same global XY frame seen from A. A solid panel uses one full schedule from A to the back surface.
Laminate design assistant
Start with a repeated [ +φ / −φ / +ψ / −ψ ] UD block. Adjust two angles and the repeat count, then apply the actual ply list below. The generator retains exterior/core-side isolation; interleaved isolation needs explicit editing. Properties are provisional base-skin CLT estimates, not supplier-tested allowables or a homogenization/strength check.
UD double-double and woven cloth rotated to the same angles are different laminates. Thin plies, repetition and actual coupling matter. Mirroring is optional; no automatic “no warp” claim.
Double-double: why, when and when not to use it ↗Isolation and surfacing plies
Added as the first physical ply in that face schedule, included in mass/thickness/BOM and the 100-ply cap. It can be moved with the ply editor. Linked A adds the same ply to B. For prepreg, use an identified compatible glass prepreg; a dry veil is not silently co-cured without resin. Peel ply is removable process fabric, not a permanent electrical barrier.
Face A
Identical face rows are not the same as a symmetric individual laminate. Symmetry is checked separately. Maximum 100 physical plies per face, including overlapping local additions.
Face B
Surface finish & tool side
A/B are fixed geometric face IDs. Select which face is on the mold without renaming faces or moving any insert, local region or edge assignment.
Molded/tool finish is allowed only on the selected tool side; two molded sides need matched-tool review. Molded does not guarantee Class-A gloss. A single-sided edge taper initially targets the selected tool side; existing edges never change automatically.
Peel ply left on protects the process surface until removed. Peel ply removed leaves texture. Sanded means a controlled preparation request, not a guarantee of bond strength: confirm grade, release contamination, cleaning, abrasive/process and isolation-fiber protection.
Why peel-ply bonding preparation needs qualificationHardpoints & local laminate
Placement is in global XY millimeters. Pockets and transition footprints must clear edges, cutouts and one another. Threaded insert hardware and G10 stock require sourced costs.
Add hardpoint
Add local region
Patches add plies over the outline plus overlap on selected sides. Overlaps accumulate. Pan-down shape is the flat solid plateau; ramp run is core depth / tan(angle), or half-depth for both sides. Nested hardpoints in local transitions currently require separate custom review.
Per-edge treatments
Edge indices follow the submitted polygon vertex order, starting at 0. Select an edge in the plan or enter its index. Cutout edges are also selectable.
Angles reference the panel plane. A/B means the core-facing plane of that skin, not the exterior surface. Tape is covering only, not a structural closeout. Exact tape adhesive compatibility is unverified.
V pan-down has no solid border and retains the face laminates as a finite tip centered on total panel thickness. A true zero-thickness knife edge would require cutting fibers and is not this operation.
Same-build companion coupons
“NIRSpec” is interpreted as NIAR-style testing. This tool proposes manufacturing blanks; the lab must approve the actual method, fixture, dimensions and preparation. Lab testing is not included.
Draft dimensions are editable allowances, not asserted ASTM dimensions. D3039/D6641 are laminate methods, never assigned to full sandwich panels. C297 is flatwise tensile, C364 edgewise compression, C393 core shear by flexure. Flexural span uses the selected span/thickness ratio; dimensions must fit the derived span.

Your working draft autosaves separately. Named revisions stay unchanged. This library is local to this browser, not a cloud account.
Portable backup
Opening a revision recalculates it and saves the previous working draft as a Recovery revision. Export backups before clearing browser storage.

Portable specification & shop rules
GeoJSON replaces only the outer boundary and cutouts. Full panel JSON restores schedules, all features, rules and coupons. Curves are unsupported. Imported data is revalidated on the server.
These configurable minimums are provisional shop screening rules. They are not structural clearance guarantees.
